About us
Small on purpose. Local by choice.
Kookaburra Community Care is a Central Coast disability support business, started by people who do the work themselves. We'd rather support a few people really well than a lot of people averagely.
Why we started Kookaburra
“Different houses, different providers — the same approach. Care treated almost casually, as if the person at the centre of it was a job to get through rather than a life to be lived.”
When I started working in disability support, it didn't take long to notice the pattern. Show up, tick the boxes, get to the end of the shift. Rosters full of strangers. Plans that sat in a folder. People's days decided for them, not with them.
The people I support deserve better than that. In my experience, everyone needs the same three things to live a good life — and too often they're the first things the system forgets.
Freedom
To make your own choices about your day, your home and your life — including the right to take a risk and the support to do it safely.
Community
A good life is full of people — family, mates, neighbours, the regulars at the gym — not just paid staff. Our job is to help build that, not replace it.
Direction
Goals that actually matter to you, and a team that works towards them with you every week — so next year looks different from this one.
Kookaburra exists to take those three things seriously. That means workers who know the person they're supporting, plans followed properly, honest records, and a director who's still on the floor doing shifts. None of it is complicated. It just has to be done properly — every shift, every time.

Who we are
Kookaburra is owned and run by two Central Coast locals — one on the floor, one running the business behind it.
Noah Tomkins
Director & co-founder
Noah came to Kookaburra from the frontline of disability support, and still works shifts alongside the team. He leads care, rostering and the relationships with participants, families and their teams.
Dom Lemanski
Co-founder
Dom has run businesses on the Central Coast for years and looks after the business side, so the team can focus on the people they support.
What we hold ourselves to
Their life, their call
Choice and control sit with the participant. We offer options and give notice before changes.
Safety and predictability
Trauma-informed support, consistent teams, and plans followed as written.
Honest records
Notes and reports that say what happened — the good days and the hard ones.
Speaking up is welcome
Feedback and complaints go straight to the director, and you can always contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
